Ah actually had to reflect with several of my best friends to try and pin-point what made me unique. That was quite the thrill.
This took me longer than it should’ve, but there ya go!
#FunFact: originally in the ‘happy’ picture, it stated ‘Hugs, kisses’ and underneath that ‘happy endings’… talking about storylines from episodes and books and stuff, but also being a joke referring to relationship bases (first base is hugs, second base is kisses, final base would be the happy ending). I ended up removing happy endings from the picture because it had the word HAPPY in it and most of the time don’t actually make me happy at all… so yeah.

Before going into ponies, there’s a few things you want to know about my sexual orientation. For instance, in my mind, love and lust are tied up in each other. If I feel close with someone, and they do not break the affection standards I set, I actually enjoy bodily contact with them - wherever that may lead to.
So what exactly are those standards? Basically, they are (up until now unwritten) conditions that need to be met before I would engage in or fantasize about sexual activities with folks I really like (that is not per definition love, but excludes party folk and hookers for instance). When writing this blog article, I was able to come up with four and a half separate conditions, as stated below.
1) The subject I love must display human characteristics as well as a general human anatomy. The most general rule that excludes objects and pretty much all living creatures on Earth.
2) I approve the looks. Strictly spoken it means that I must not be revolted when I look at them. However, I can’t help to fall for looks too.
3) The subject is either sexually active (towards me) or would be in real-life circumstances. This condition kind of means that I will not bait folk into (first time) sexual activities (how very uke of me), while emphasizing that any sexual partner is mature enough, or at least is experimenting with sexuality. This rule also emphasizes condition one once again.
Adding to condition 3, would be 3.5) The subject is of legal age and within my age range. For some reason I felt it was appropriate and necessary to write this down as a separate condition, while in fact it should pretty much be a given…
4) There are no apparent relationship issues. Simply put: I would never make out with (extended) family, married men and women, hookers etc… we either started out as close friends or made it up to close friends (or could/would be in real life).
As you can see; it does not specify race or gender. Therefor, since I love the characters from the show, and some meet all four and a half standards, I can’t help but to feel sexually attracted to some.
Now onto the more specific part: what ponies and what are the turn-ons?
First of all; there is the fur. I would not call myself a furry, but a fluffy fur in my book is definitely a plus. Then there are the colors. Colors affect moods; looking at colors can lift spirits or can freak you out. It pretty much is a given that the colorful world of Equestria brightens moods and makes experiencing the ponies a lot more enjoyable. More specifically, the combination of some color palettes in pony 34 is a turn-on: Appledash would be the number one on that list. Some pony color-palettes are a turn-off, such as Fluttershy’s or Pinkie Pie’s.
Thirdly, I’m going to name a few other things another brony on Formspring replied with: the wing-boners, the horns and the hooves. All these factors either add to joyful possibilities or form an intriguing concept to experiment with. To this blend, I myself will add the tail.
Last but not least; the fact you can actually ride a pony (saddle up and yeehaw) just finishes it off.
So yeah, that’s it. Now ya know. There are lots of reasons I respect for not clopping, but if you base your opinion on the fact they are simply ponies, I’d like to refer you to National Geographic Wild Life documentaries. Now ask yourself how much those animals resemble the ponies from the show. The answer? They pretty much don’t.
The ponies from the cartoon show are so humanized, one could consider them humans, and in fact, even treat them as such. The slightly different body (with possibilities that a human body can’t provide) merely sets the line for really closed-minded folks. If you happened to be one of those, I salute you farewell… or alternatively, invite you to read more of my blog posts on how to mature the hay up.
The fact they don’t do any naughty stuff in the show is because it’s a kids show. Take them out of the context of a kids show and you enable them to act more like humans, thus making them feel attracted to one another.
A given context does not mean you cannot take parts of the context and place it in a context more fit for you. If that means you are not respecting the given context, you are wrong. I respect the given context in a way that I am not making a fuss on what it shows me, but instead either agree and applaud it, or name my issues and in some cases, stop watching it. I am not altering with the given context or harassing the providers of it in any disrespectful way, but instead look for other contexts that I can enjoy too. Compare it to fan-fictions; albeit clop-fictions, shipping fan-fictions or alternate reality fan-fictions such as Fallout Equestria.
Cheers.
Ah’ve actually never left Texas during my stays in America, and ah love it! This summer however, ah shall finally see 18 other states!
